I am trying to find info on my Great Grandad, William Henry Williams,He played for the Albion i think roughly 1850's I know he had to retire throu an injury to his knee,but am unsure what yr.
I would appreciate any help.

I think your dates are out, West Brom were not formed until 1878.

Find out his birth and death dates to get a better idea of when he played football

BUT - the oldest club in the world - Notts County - wasn't formed until 1862, so 1850's is unrealistic.
