Is there any kind soul out there, who has or has access to, the MIs for Northampton ?

Lewis Jones Williams was born in 1892, in Corris, Merionethshire. He joined the Army in August 1914, and went to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers (was living in Pwllheli, Caernarvon, at the time). He was transferred to the Cheshire Regiment, and spent the war with their Light Railway section. He was discharged in 1919, and seems to have iived in Northampton after that. I have what is possibly his marriage, to Ellen Burgess, born 1895, or close to then, in 1916 in Higham Ferrers (though she doesn't appear on his pension records,). Marriage is registered in Northammpton.

I can't find any trace of either of them after 1920, so I wondered if anyone in the Northampton area might be able to check for deaths. Most grateful if anyone can help at all.

Check out the Northants FHS website.

They have a list of publications - Higham Ferrers MIs amongst them.

Bear in mind that there may not be a gravestone for them in the parish church and they may be in a municipal cemetry. But maybe someone at the FHS could help you more.

Many thanks Mrs G (I'm quite sure that the G doesn't stand for Grumpy). I'll check on the FHS.
