First things first! Do you know who was living at the same address in 1973? If not I would do that first - you would need to look at electoral register, or ask the staff for a lookup. Might give you a clue as to relationship/ marriage. You could also try a street search on Friends Reunited to see if anyone is registered there. There's a chance there is a neighbour who remembers something (I had this happen once so while a slim chance not impossible!).
How have you come across him?

HI jan

hes my husbands father he has not seen him since he was 2yrs old due to circumstances that were neither his or his dads fault!!! i know that it would mean more than the world to him to at least know that hes alive and well and more to get an address for him,

his mum is vauge with the info she has given us but they were married the late 60s and are now divorced she remarried in 1992 so she must have had some contact with him to file for divorce and for him to sign the papers,,???

With regard to the divorce, she may not have had contact with her ex for many years.
When my ex husband & I split up, we got divorced within 2 years, but I didn“t remarry for 20 years. Already had all the paperwork.
Once bitten eh??

If you get the marriage certificate, it is possible that his father had an unusual first name or more that one, so you could trace his parent's marriage'
This will give his mother's maiden name so you you could try tracing his siblings & hope they are in touch.

Williams is just a POPULAR surname not common LOL
