Find Ancestors

My mother Gwyneth Williams was born in Carter Street, Manchester on 17th September 1927. Her mother Emily was living at the time in Wellington Road, Manchester. Emily at the time of birth was a Foundry Clerk. Father is not on the Birth Cert. Can anyone help me, or advise me on how to trace Emily.

Do you know what happened to Emily, or anything about her age or any other relatives?

Do you happen to live near manchester? i would start by looking at the electoral register to see who else was living there at the time.

Do you have a number for carter St? A very long shot but there sre some Williams's living in that road 1911:

Do you know anything of 49 Wellington Road?

There are a few Wellington Roads in lancashire, but assuming it's the Chorlton one I can't find number 49!

It looks to me like the carter St. address is just somewhere for unmarried mothers to give birth maybe? Wellington Road is more promising. You could ask staff to do a lookup for you (they might charge):
