Diana, that appears to be a workhouse record and there is a vast list of inmates. The Richard Williams on there was born in Denbigh. There are loads of other Williams in there (well, there would be) but not apparently related.

There is another Richard Williams born 1843 in St Asaph who is with parents Thomas and Elizabeth and 6 siblings.

Which one of these is most likely to be yours?

Diana

were you looking at the census on this site??

You cannot move easily from one page to another on any of the censuses on GR

you can on other sites, such as ancestry or findmypast.

RICHARD/EDWARD WILLIAMS: thank you all for your help. I have come to realise i went completely the wrong direction with my tree as my RICHARD WILLIAMS was born in Chester c1843, and that i should have been looking for EDWARD WILLIAMS born in Chirk, Denbigh. D'OH, but, if anyone is looking for the same family, please let me know and we can compare. thank you again
