William, father of Alice Calver Wilson born 1880,

Trying to find information on William Calver Wilson, my paternal gt grandfather. I know that his daughter Alice was brought up by her grandmother (on census return) but nothing of Wm's wife(?) or his birth etc. On Alice's marriage certificate his occupation is given as "butler"

Sorry! Alice was born at Scarborough, N Yorkshire and married at Gateshead, Co Durham. William's mother was also in Co Durham at some point.
