HELP WITH WAR RECORDS

Coul any one help me? I have my Grandad's war records which are very interesting although I am rubbish at Geography. There is a list of country's where he went but most are just letters and I have no idea what they mean.

There is also INDIA, IRAQ, SICILY and HOME. I wonder why the others aren't just writen as countrys why are they in initial form?

Forgot to say the link above is for medal card's some are the same as on service records, but the same site does have what you need for all the abbreviations
