Wood family records from Doncaster

Douglas Report 3 Jul 2009 23:31

I am looking for information on the Wood family from Doncaster Yorkshire. In particular the family of Thomas Howson Wood and his wife Mary. We know they had two sons who were transported to Australia in 1832 but there must have been other children. Those boys were christened in St Peters Sheffield in 1801 and 1810. The father was a tailor in Doncaster so perhaps some of his children carried on the trade after him.

If anyone has access to Doncaster records for the period 1780 - 1840 it would be a great help as we are in Australia.

Many Thanks in anticipation, Joan

Dear Joan

Hello,

Have you searched the GR trees for your ancestors and
the children you mention? Other GR members could have them in their family tree.

Have you tried typing in Doncaster/Sheffield, then genuki?

The GENUKI search engine has pages of information about different areas in the UK.
