Find Ancestors

I am trying to find my Great grandad's parents and siblings (If any). Ernest Frederick Wood was born on 6/8/1894 in Fulham London. He married Rosa Beatrice Davis in Kensington London and he died on 3/11/1953 at 61 Guinions Road, High Wycombe Buckinghamshire. They had 5 children Irene, Audrey (my grandmother), Dennis, Ida and Joyce.

To be sure of his fathers name and occupation with a name like Wood(being very popular) you need to either get his birth cert or his marriage cert.

Thanks Mike, must of been a typo.

The only birth certificate/marriage certificate i have is for my grandmother Audrey Wood.

The Birth certificate was registered in the Kensington district and the address was 16 st Lawerence Road. (1926)
Ernest was a motor mechanic if that is an help. I will try and get his marriage/birth certificate to try and obtain some more information.

Hi Lucie - it's not a cheap hobby, this genealogy!

Just had a look again at the 1911 census and believe the mothers name on there actually says Alic Sarahann (Alice Sarah Ann). Ernest Frederick's occupation is Watch and Clock maker (had thought it a bit odd to make clerks!).

Also, their address for the baptism I posted yesterday is 121 Fulham Palace Road.

Thanks everyone for all your help. I now have Ernest birth certificate. His father was Harry Wood and his mother Alice Sarah Ann Cook. His father was a railway porter.

Hi Lucie, well that confirms the 1911 census that Tempest found.

I've had another look at the baptism I posted on 14th and the Father's name could be either Harry or Harvey depending which way you look at it. The father's occupation is "porter" and given that the mother's name was Alice Sarah Ann then this must be the right baptism record.
