George Wood was born 1840 Oldham, his parents were Robert and Hannah Wood. George Wood married Elizabeth Kay !860 and they had 4 children Robert Kay, James Wilkinson, Herbert and Edith. Elizabeth died 1870 and George married Sally Whitehead born 1829. He even had another wife by 1901 - Emily Kershaw named in his will as 'niece to his late wife.' My direct descendant is James Wilkinson Wood. He married Elizabeth Ellen Berry and they had 2 children, Gertrude and Charles. By 1912 the children were orphans - James died from TB and Elizabeth from pneamonia. From the family documents I have been given and the censuss. i have got a pretty comprehensive picture of all the lives of George's childen and even his siblings but what I have no idea about is what happened to their descendents in the 20th century. any information would be gratefully received gill
