Lucy Hardman, daughter of George Hardman and Mary ?? married Squire Camfort Wood on January 31 1881, Squire's Father was also Squire Wood and he is described on the Marriage Certificate as a cattle dealer. He does not appear on the census of the same year in which Lucy and his son were living with Elizabeth Wood described as the head of the family and Brother in law John and sister in law Ellen as well as husband Camfort, We then find that Lucy and Squire Camfort had a baby boy Camfort in December 1883. Lucy then disappears until her death certioficate in 1916 in Hokanui New Zealand where she was married to a Thomas Jewitt. Camfort is in New Zealand as well as a child by the Jewitt relationship, Nellie at this time. Any further help would be welcomed. Also connected may be an "illegitimate daughter" Lizzie who appeared on the 1881 census and who was five at the tim e Mike and Jocelyn |
