Hi all,

Wonder if anyone could help me search for George Henry Wood, probably born about 1912. I'm trying to figure out where he fits into the family, working backwards from family knowledge.

George had a son, Ronald George Wood, born 1932. Would be great if I could find George's parents and his wife to try and fit him into the family tree.

Where was he born, where did he live? It is too common a name otherwise

Hi, sorry Linda, he was probably born in Essex somewhere, perhaps around Hornchurch/Romford as this was where he was last known to have lived.

The birth reference for Ronald George would give his mothers maiden name. I have looked at the Ancestry images for all four quarters in 1932 and the first one for 1933, but their is no Ronald G Wood registered
Do you know which quarter Ronald would have been born in and where he was born?

Hi Linda,

At the moment all I have is Ronald's marriage certificate. He was 16 when he married on April 3rd 1948. We know that he was born in Romford, Essex, but unfortunately that is all.

I have been trying to find his birth record so that I can find his mother's name, which would then hopefully lead me to a marriage for her and George to find out George's father.

16 seems to be an early age to marry, is it written very clearly on the certificate? I wondered if it was 18. so I have looked at the births from 1930-33 but there are none for Romford.
This could be the birth of the father

Hi Linda,

I thought the same when I saw the certificate, it is clearly written, so checked 1931-1933. When I couldn't find him there I then thought that perhaps the scriber misheard and checked further back, but I just cannot find him anywhere.

That may well be Ron's father, will order the certificate. I am just hoping that somewhere it'll all fall into place. I think perhaps George was my g grandfather's (Herbert Neilson Wood) brother, but I cannot find any proof of this without the birth certificates. Will have to order more and hope that they are the right ones!
