Hi, I am trying to find the birth record of John (Jack) Wright. I believe he was born in Disley nr manchester but cannot find any record of his birth marriage or death. I know he moved to Tean, Staffordshire and was married to Dorothea Mary Johnson. They had a son (amongst other children) named Percival James William Wright (b 1920 d 1968). Unfortunately I have no dates to work with. Can you help? |

I've looked at deaths in 1968......none registered for Percival Wright, aged 48. |

Sorry Percival Wright b 1913 d 1969. This is my grandfather. It is his father John Wright I am searching for. I have located Dorothea Johnsons family via a book written by a friend of my grandmothers. It has a picture of Dorothea Wright of Tean but gives no details of her husband. I have no certificates as cannot find any record of him at all but know he definitely lived in Tean as my grandma remembers him. |

Could be..my grandma said she was born in 1889 but she is 86 and might have been mistaken. |

The marriage ref is good as it's more than I have. Still have no clue as to where he was born and when he died though. I'm trying to trace the Wright family as far as possible as know very little about them. |

the marriage cert would give you his fathers name to help you look for him in the census as he should be on at least 1901. If you are lucky it will also give his age at marriage or at least 'of full age' so you would know he was over 21 |
