Frank,

I think that you need to check the dates in your post as something is very obviously not right. If Martha was born in c1724 I doubt that she would be buried (For the 1st time at least) in 1886.

Did you mean born c1824 or buried 1786 or are we talking about the worlds oldest person here (Died aged approx 162) ?

Have you proof that the burial (whenever it was) relates to the woman who had the illegitimate child?

She could, of course, have marrried a man named Wright.

Or the son (presumably) who gave the info when she died , could have lied about her status........to save face

....or she could have been a widow when she conceived .

However, it's unlikely you are talking about the same woman given the dates !

There are two possibilities in a reasonable location to Bailiff Bridge and they are :-

Martha Wright bapt 1 st Mar 1723 Holy Trinity Wibsey dau of Mary Wright
Martha Wright bapt 21 Apl 1723 Holy Trinity Wibsey dau of William Wright

I don't think he understands that if you ask a question you are supposed to look to see if anyone has answered it.....and reply. I have tried to explain, ...fingers crossed.-jl

Just to update everyone...following a pm, Frank sent me this reply

"i have this woman in sight already, but no concrete proof.
wibsey is not far from bally brig. and she could have named her son after her father."

......won't make any comments...lol...jl
