Trying to find Wright

Hi My Great Grandfather was officially George William Wright but went under the surname Wright Barker. He was born c1851 in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. His Father was George Wright - don't know where born but did he marry a Barker(possibly Anne)? as his children took the name Wright Barker, although not officially. Goerge William married Eleanor Jane Dawson (born c1853 in Workington, Cumberland) in 1872. They had children Joseph (my Grandfather) born 1885, John Alexander born 1887, Frederick, William and Emily born c1880. John Alexander married Margery Littlewood and had children Florence, Jack and George. Emily married William Gray Westran and had children Frank and George William. My Grandfather (Joseph) married Emily Pickles and had children Norman, Laurence, Frederick, Stanley, Nellie and Evelyn (my Mother). I grew up knowing them as the Barker family but my Grandfather was known at work as Joe Wright. Can anyone shed any light on this change of name and does anyone have any information which will help me with my family tree please? Eileen Scotcher |
