I have been trying with no luck to find the birth details of Mary Ann Young born c1844 in Paddington, MIddlesex.
Her fathers name was James Young which I got from her marriage certificate to Robert C Musgrave.
She died c 1911 in Bethnal Green.
I have found one entry where the mothers name was Julia but am not convinced.
Can anyone help at all.

Thanks

Andrew

From her marriage cert, what was her fathers occupation?

Andrew,
He was a Cab Proprietor.
On the 1851 Census there is an entry for a James with a wife Julia and a daughter Mary Ann and his occupation is Carman???
Same??

K,
Thanks for that. I have seen that entry and considered it but on Mary Ann's marriage cert. it shows her fathers occupation as Cab Proprietor which is very different to Pattern Maker. Mind you they did seem to chop and change a lot back then!!

Isn't Carman and Cab Proprietor the same thing?

Cab Driver / Cabbie / Cabman
Driver of a horse-drawn passenger vehicle for hire. The first two are still in current use for a taxi driver

I thought as much.

It seems a strong possibility that this is her family then??
