Edit; I dont think they married as I looked first on Ancestry and have just looked on freebmd and nothing comes up.

Ahhh, EssexPride, the BMD is not a complete list....some entries have been missed off.

Most noteably as recently as 1975 my friend was omitted and she most def exists!

Pre 1875 birth registration was not compulsary, and while Freewheel is right to recommend FreeBMD is not your only source of data and def not one to be 100% trusted, esp the earlier dates.

Parish records maybe your only way, try Familysearch.org or maybe try googling the county the record is in and adding 'OPC'. The online parish clerks project is your next best hope.

christened 31.08.1845 St mary Magdalene church
Bermondsey London

had seven children first born 1873 d.1874 named John Gray Young

Mary ann died 1894.
John C.died 1909
