So is it Jack that was born in 1912 and died in 1980? There are no deaths for a Jack Young born 1912, died 1980 in Manchester area.

There is this...

John Young is a pretty common name, so trawling for a marriage for him would take some time.

I think it would be good if you could get more info on his 5 children to try and find their births and then trace the marriage of the parents from the mothers maiden name given.

Donna - what do you mean by looking on the census for his death? You wont find a. death details on a census, or b. censuses available past 1911 for England & Wales...

Jan is right - you should order the death certificate, although I am aware that ordering certs for events which fall within the last 50 years you do tend to need to be able to provide more information to be able to order...

Certs cost £9.25

Donna

Donna Report 7 Jan 2011 17:30

AlexWoozle what i meant is that i couldn't find a record of the death on the census i know that it will not show the details but i'm going to ask my aunt and cousin again

MarieCeleste Report 7 Jan 2011 17:33

Donna, are you confusing census with BMD records?

Census only go up to 1911 and are records of households - addresses and who lived in them.
