Hi there my name is thomas young, married and 52 yrs of age. My family tree extends back to 1797 and we live in the northeast of england. i often try to find snippets of info for people thru' the records that I can access with ancestry.com. I will commene a systematic search thru;' the english marriage and english deaths indices for you from say 1972 onwards. Would I be correct in saying that your father will now be 80 yrs. in April gone? I always look on the positive side of life and If his name is not in the deaths indices, he is still out there. if he remarried for whatever reason and you may have a match for marriage indices then you would know which area he registered a marriage, then you would have a residential area and surrounding areas for which you could look at the voters roles within the public libraries close to that marriage area registry. This method does work. I have tried it before. I am usually busy with college studing HNC in engineering, and work but I will make it my goal to look thru' the indices first for marriages registered in England. However, I am sure that you know information that may be discovered may be sad but at least you will know. A "cousin" in America found me and I traced their family tree back to brother and and sister my family descended from Ann Young and her Karens family descended from Anns' brother George. My cousins' father had a half brother whom he never met that lived in Sunderland close by me in 1953. I saw letters when I visited America in June 2000 and said this address your family were writing to is 5mins away from my house. All fell into place when I got back home. Within 2 hours I found that he moved down away to a warmer climate to help his bad chest from the pit. He is buried in the southern part of England. One day I shall try to visit him there. I do not mean to disturb you by no means, but sometimes no news is good news as they say. If you wish to contact me on a time to time basis my email address is [email protected] Thank you for your patience and I will try my best for you. Sincerely, Thomas Young
