Hi my name is Alex Young born 1954 in Govan ,Glasgow my father was also Alex who died on 1963 he originaly lived in Whiteinch,Partick and was in the Gordon Highlanders based in Egypt during the second world war where he met and married my mother Bridget Best from Green Street in Glasgow My father was an electrician in Stevenson shipyards Govan he then went on to manage a public house with my mother in Glasgow south side at this time we lived in Castlemilk and he died at the age of 40 at which point i was nine My grandparents lived in Partick at this point my grandfathers name was Peter Young whom we lossed touch with and i believe he died in 1970 i know his brother had a large family and lived in the partick area and i would like to trace them to find information on my family tree |
