Problems With New Tree

We are aware that there are problems with the new tree and are currently trying to resolve the issues.

UPDATE: Tuesday 24 Jan 15:20 UK TIME - We are currently testing and will hopefully do a release tomorrow - containing all the changes that we tried to release last week, a couple of bug fixes on Genes, some fixes to the new tree.... and a link to let members use the old tree while we ironing out any issues with the new version!

UPDATE: Monday 23 Jan 2012 19:34 UK TIME - The release last week involved quite significant behind the scenes changes. One of the main changes was splitting the tree out from the general Genes code base. This new tree had been in live test for about 6 weeks, and there was no indication of any major problems. Obviously with the complete switch occurring last week, we identified performance issues on the servers delivering the new tree. Without having an instant fix, our only option was to roll back the whole of Genes to make the old tree available. We are working to get the new tree problem free (there are more significant gains to be made by doing this long term) but we are also looking at the alternatives (temporarily making the old tree available). Unfortunately, there are drawbacks with this, and it's not as straight-forward as it might seem. For the moment, it makes most sense to continue access to both the old tree (as default) and have a link for some to try the new tree. Our apologies for the impact this may have caused, I hope the temporary solution is agreeable for the moment. - Phil

UPDATE: Monday 23 Jan 2012 12:30PM UK TIME - We are continuing to work on the tree issues. And hope to respond more fully later this afternoon.

UPDATE: Friday 20 Jan 2012 9PM UK TIME - Although we have made some configuration changes that may have allowed members to use the new tree, we have rolled back to our previous version so that over the weekend members can still access the old version. The link to the new tree is available for some members as it was during the beta test phase. If you should find that the new tree is not responding, we would recommend using the old tree for the moment.

Our sincerest apologies,
Phil Moir
