Hi Pam and everyone on this one.
Well I definatley think it is a different family now and we have found the right one with the second one we found.
The Henry Brewerton that died in Tadcaster born c 1837 with son Tom ( down as Breverton in 1901).
Ok he was a boot and shoe maker so that tallies.
So from what I can see Thomas had nothing to do with the family of Henry and Emma. ( coudl be related if gone into far enough)
I am going to check the rest of the census Iam sure he was a boot maker all the way through.

Part of PM from Rowena:

"Henry was a Boot and Shoe maker. Does that tie up with Thomas's father's occupation on his marriage cert?

Henry was a shoe maker on Thomas's marriage certificate and when Henry got marriage he was a printer.****
Thomas's witnesses were Thomas and Sarah Jane Lazenby and Robert Henry Bindsake."

****(This would be the marriage of Henry and Emma Hesling)

Rowena

Have to go off line for a couple of hours. Will check back later to see if you have added marriage cert info

Hi Selina. No think Thomas was his name think we now have him on 1901 as transcribd as Breverton.
Yes we really need all the detals off the marriage cert.
Though I wonder if he was Hannah's son and took Henry's name.
Though if that was the case surely the fathers name on the marriage cert would be different. Hard one isn't it. :-)

Do we know who are the witnesses on Thomas's marriage?
1910 I think it was.

Thanks Germaine, thought I was losing it.

Perhaps Thomas was his middle name, or perhaps his parents weren't married at the time of birth so is registered under another surname.

Germaine Report 25 Feb 2008 15:27

Selina I think Rowena is going off another family . If I am right all she had was Thomas marriage cert that named his father as Henry so she looked for a Henry . Think this is why we have had such a job finding him. Don't hink she had anything concrete with his mothers name.
If she comes back with more details off the marriage cert that should help.
Hope that makes sense.

I'm confused :(

I thought Thomas' parents were Henry and Emma not Henry & Mary Ann.

Where have I gone wrong?

Potty

Potty Report 25 Feb 2008 15:17

I can't read it either, Germaine - beginning of name is too faint. Wonder if it could be Carter?

Yes, I saw that King's Norton marriage - thought it was too far away, but you never know!

I do so hope this is Rowena's Thomas - I think her boy friend was a bit upset at the thought of having a bigamist as an ancestor.

Waiting for Rowena to come back with Henry's occupation on Thomas's marriage cert.

Hi Claire/Rowena

Unfortuneatly I can't find him any earlier. Henry is a widower in 1891 and I can't find a marriage for him to a Hannah! and I can't find a Hannah with a son Tom/Thomas!

Will pm Rowena to confirm Henry's occupation on Thomas marriage cert.
