If you want to buy a BMD cert, heres how and here
is the addy where you can buy it online... (copy n paste the following...)

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

(tip)Never pay more than £7
(another tip) for a marriage, you only need
put one partners name when ordering.

If you are ordering online from the GRO,

James Harry Flatman
Died 17th November 1918
Member of the Devonshire Regiment No 49917
Born and buried in Norfolk! No birth date I'm afraid.
Any help appreciated, because I can't find him anywhere.

Thank you Sue, that could well be him. Henry and Harry are often interchanged I think. And he is buried in Bressingham churchyard. Can't understand why he wasn't in a Norfolk regiment though.

1891.
I wonder if James was known as Harry. Parents are correct according to CWGC.

He probably was. And thanks to the information you've given me I am now able to cross him off my list of possible relatives. So no wild goose chasing along that branch now.

Hi Gerri, I have my suspicions as to whether that is the right one, he was born in Bishopsgate, living in Shoreditch 1905 and in 1919 the rest of the family were still there,

MrsBucketBouquet

MrsBucketBouquet Report 31 May 2008 22:38

Linda

I did a search on FreeBMD for deaths in Shoreditch...1904-1925 and only one came up for a baby aged 0 in 1906....sorry but it looks like a blanket search on the full index of Ancestry...

Sorry but it's a bit late in the day and the old eyes give out on me for those kinda look ups.
Thats 14 years and 56 pages to read!
