Hi Ladykira,

I am obviously being a bit stupid - but cannot see anything that links to the Wood family in the two directory links you have posted. Please can you point me in the right direction?

Also - I dont have access to Ancestry at home - so cannot access the link for the tree you have posted!

The links were for Nottingham which was the home of the Taylor family at that time. The Woods were still in Geddington.

You could take out the Ancestry free trial even if you have done it before.

Hi Christine,

The Taylor family originated from Leicestershire - James [the optician] was born in Leicestershire and his father was a Malster journeyman.

I will see if Ancestry will let me have another 'trial' - I have tried a couple of times but it would not let me. Failing that I can access at the Archives.
