Even if notifications were sent, they would be to the originator of the thread = not to people who simply added something

Shelley, although you are not notified of new posts on a thread Genes DO send out notifications of pms.

GR do not send notifications. It isn’t like FB

GR doesn't let you know when replies are added to a thread you've started.
I know it says it does - but it doesn't.

You have to keep coming back to the thread to check.

For some reason, I didn't receive an email about this thread being updated so apologies for me coming back after a couple of weeks. As you say, its unlikely the OP will respond after 13 years now we are in 2022!

I have a copy of Patrick and Catherine's marriage cert. and I can also add their first child to the above:

CURRY Catherine 1854 D Quarter in BOLTON UNION Volume 08C Page 252

After Patrick jnr., the others were born in Otley. I do wonder if Patrick Snr. and Catherine met in Bolton or came from Ireland to Bolton together. Their are quite a few Barretts in Ireland and England, at this time

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1857
Surname Forename(s) Mother's Maiden Name Year Sub-District Registers At Reference Add to Summary
CURRY John BARRETT 1857 Western Bolton Bolton WB/32/463

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1859
CURRY Patrick BARRETT 1859 Western Bolton Bolton WB/37/53

The fathers (if known) will be named on the marriage cert. The year, incidentally, was 1853. It was NOT a CofE ceremony.

Click on the poster’s name to send a message via GR. It’s unlikely that she will be looking for replies after more than twelve years. She didn’t even respond in 2009

Hello, I have some information on the Currie's that may be of interest if anyone is still viewing this thread.

I believe the marriage is actually:
