I would like to obtain a Certificate of Marriage that took place at Gretna Green between my Gt. Grandfather and Gt. Grandmother on 23 June 1843.
As I live in NZ can anyone advise me how to go about this please, as I would like to find out what their ages were at the time?

Is it the Tarpay?/Clark marriage that's on Ancestry? I don't think there would be anymore information that what is on there.
"Since Gretna Green marriages were not exactly formal, the record keeping was not regulated, nor was it centralized. The Lang Registers make up approximately 50% of all Gretna Green marriages performed during the specified time period. The Lang Registers is the largest single collection of Gretna Green marriage registers and includes over 10,000 records.
Sometimes marriages were recorded on scraps of pieces of paper. Other times they were kept more formally and recorded in a book. The amount of information recorded could vary as well. However, you’ll generally be able to find the following information:
Names of bride and groom
Their counties of residence
Marriage date
Witnesses’ names"

It is the Tarpey/Clark marriage I was wanting more info. on.
I have just received Smith Tarpey's Death Certificate and on it it states that he was 43 when he died in 1858, but on the 1851 Census his age is shown as 43 - which to my calculations would make him 50 when he died. I paid a "Researcher" to get info. from Ireland about him, but all I got was the the fact that he was born in Sligo, which I already knew!
My last hope to confirm his age was from his marriage Cert, but it looks like that's a no-go too.

So it looks like I'm stuck again. Ah well them's the breaks...

Have you looked at Scotlands people to see if the marriage was registered? Greta Green is in Scotland, so the marriage wont be on Freebmd or ancestry

Before 1855, there was no requirement to register what the church liked to call "irregular" marriages, nor was there really any place to rego them.
