I would like to obtain a Certificate of Marriage that took place at Gretna Green between my Gt. Grandfather and Gt. Grandmother on 23 June 1843. |

Have you looked at Scotlands people to see if the marriage was registered? Greta Green is in Scotland, so the marriage wont be on Freebmd or ancestry |

Before 1855, there was no requirement to register what the church liked to call "irregular" marriages, nor was there really any place to rego them. |
