cant find them on census

I wonder how you know that Robert married Alice Wintrip. The family that Margaret in Sussex has found appears to have a wife or senior female called Margaret, same in 1851. And it appears that Robert and Margaret married in 1836, so Thomas and Isabella could be from a previous marriage - but how do you know their mother was Alice? |

Alice Wintrtip is the second daughter of my my 5xg grandfather william wintrip and his wife barbara rogerson i have her birth 22 nov 1794 in wooler her marriage 1 march 1827 and her probable death in 1868 age 74 also is wooler but i cant seem to find her anywhere else. |

So Alice is not your direct relative? Therefore you don't know if she had any children with Robert that we can trace. Have we the right marriage of Robert and Margaret (1836) if children were born earlier to the pair? The Alice who died in 1868 is married to William Nesbit, not Robert. Not that I can find a marriage for the pair. She might be a totally different Alice. |
