Divorce and possible re marriage

A couple got married in December 1959 and only had a "brief marriage" - I do not know when it actually ended, only that it was "brief".

Does anyone have any ideas as to the earliest point that the lady in question might have become divorced so that I can search for a possible remarriage; her maiden surname is quite a common one and there is no re-marriage in the U.K. for her marital surname.

Her spouse remarried in 1966 - so the divorce must have been between 1960 and 1966.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Unless there were exceptional circumstances, a divorce could not be obtained until two years after the marriage

Perhaps the female didn't re-marry

That's great Reggie - thanks! I have no idea whether or not the female remarried and have no idea what became of her. Looking for a re-marriage in her maiden name is one possibility to explore and will be made easier if i have a starting point.
