Rambling Report 1 Jul 2013 15:51

I received a warning this morning

""As you know, we can't allow argumenst to be played out on our message boards. This post was reported to us and has now been removed.
Please do not retaliate to offensive or antagnostic comments as continuing to do so may result in your eventual removal from the site."

So in one sentence GR tacitly acknowledge I am retaliating to "offensive and antagnostic" ( sic) comments...and in the same breath restoring the OP I reported post. Which was then reported AGAIN (not by me)...and the whole thread has now gone,

So am I to assume NO warning was given to the OP?

Hi Renes,

No it doesn't remove the whole thread, just that post.

"The OP receives no warning, for the contravention of the guidelines"
- Not when their post is RR'd no. Anyone whose post is RR'd will receive an email from us after we have dealt with it.

"I can now see the logic of contravening the guidelines with an opening post. And then sitting back and watch the ensuing melee"
- Generally we find that posts are reported pretty quickly and so no argument does ensue.

Hi Rambling Rose,

The customer support team manage the request reviews. If you have any questions about a warning that has been given they will be able to explain further.

Natasha,

Re your post at 9.58 today from which it appears Customer Support were unable to see the outstanding request reviews

Can you confirm that the request review facility is now working correctly?

Thank you.

Renes Report 1 Jul 2013 16:20

Sorry Natasha

I seem to have confused you - well I hope i have, and what you have replied is not factual

For example ...

I start a new thread With my heading. But with an offensive first post ( ie the OP )

It is then RRd

Sometime later that RRd is upheld ( by GR) and the OP removed ....

are you now saying this action does not remove the whole thread ...

Because in all my years I have never seen a live thread without an OP or heading

I am also shocked that I can receive a warning for an offensive post

By the originator of the contentious thread received no warning

Irene

Hi Irene,

Sorry, no I hadn't understood what you were asking. To clarify;

OP is reported and immediately removed from view on the site

Customer Support review the OP and uphold the report and the entire thread is removed from the site.

JustGillian, I can confirm that the request review facility is now working correctly.

Renes Report 1 Jul 2013 16:40

Thank you - I rather thought you had misunderstood me

So as we are agreed ...

at the removal of the OP and therefore the subsequent removal of the thread

as the OP was against the guidelines ,,,,

and that member who posted that OP will get a warning ...

For contravening the guidelines ...

In the same manner as the other members in "thread posts"

2 warnings ... Then on the 3rd .... Ban .....

as OP offensive posts on commencement of a thread are regarded in the same

manner - As In thread offensive posts

Thank you for clarifying

Irene

I am so glad the request review facility is working for you now....shame there have been posts still under review since lunch time today.

I imagine there has been nothing wrong with the site re error messages this weekend?....if you were not using it , I expect you didn't have the problem??

Don't worry about replying...I am not expecting one...after all I am one of the full standard paying members...not free or discounted

Hi Jax,

We did experience a few error messages this weekend. Site performance is always monitored and we are investigating this weekend's error messages.

This weekends error messages !!

Been a problem for ages on this site but nothing appears to be done about it.

I will ask a question which I have posted on many occasions and never had an answer - Just how many times does an error message have to be reported before it is investigated ?

Going back to the subject of bans. I got 3 warnings and a ban all within 3-4 hours and I was not insulting any member or baiting then etc. So how come one member has got off so lightly. Smacks of favouritism again !!!

Hi Natasha

Is the email system working okay please

And if someone has sent one of your posts for review ... and it is noticed that it

has been removed,,,

is the member notified of its removal ?

( to clarify I am asking about the member that posted the comment ) not the RR er ----------- or do GR just delete them

Thank You

Another question

A member is allowed back on site after their ban so I presume the Team monitor their postings.

If they cause problems again how many warnings, one to three, do they get before another ban is given.

Would a second ban be a lot longer than the first one ?

Or does a second ban become permanent removal from this site ?

Hi GlitterBaby, I am really sorry to hear that you keep seeing error messages. I think we did explain this a while ago on another thread. We do constantly monitor performance. The problem is that the site does error when a member has large amount of contacts, messages and threads that need to load each time they use the site. As you are a frequent user of the boards, we are always loading your threads when you use them and this is possibly why you see error messages more often.

As for request reviews and the warning process, we will always tell a member when they have received a warning and why we have given it. However, we would never discuss this on the message boards. You can always contact the support team if something isn't clear and you do need any further explanation.

Hi Renes – yes members are notified when their posts have been removed.

Narasha

You said on Monday the team does not work at the weekend....why have I had posts reported, removed and email sent on a Saturday then? I keeps all emails from you, so can prove it

As for always receiving an email for posts that have been removed...that is not correct I'm affraid

Community Advisor Report 3 Jul 2013 12:43

Hi Jax,
The team doesn’t work weekends anymore. It is usual practise to notify members when posts have been removed.

So this has just been in the last year then as my email for is dated 15/9/2012

Which was for posting a link to a duplicate thread....which is now obviously against the T&C's??...surprised I didn't get a warning for it :-D I also believe at least 3 other posts on that thread were rr'd and removed...didn't get an email for those

For a business that is open 24/7 surely there should be someone available at weekends
