Is it possible that a death of an infant was not recorded in 1926??

Thanks SKT

Was the birth registered?

Does this refer to England/Wales?

Where have you looked?

Why do you think this death occurred?

Hi ,
I have searched all death registers from 1926 which I have access to on GR and all possible name spellings. This was the third child born, previous 2 children died in infancy. Mother died with no known next of kin.

Thanks SKT

You haven't answered the question about the birth...............

Use freebmd

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

When did the mother die?

Having no known NOK doesn't necessarily signify that any child(ren) she had are not alive

Reggie's correct. If the death isn't apparent on the registers then the logical answer is that the child lived. At that time it would have been a requirement that if the child was not still born then it must be registered as a birth and as a death.

I knew from family info that my Grandmother had a child which died but it took me three years to locate his birth and his death at just 4 hours old. I was looking in the wrong town. The family had moved briefly while grandpa was seeking work.

Keep searching, and if you give the information suggested by Reggie you'll get help here.

If the child was stillborn it wont be registered

By 1926, it was quite difficult to get a body buried without a d.cert.

If this is his mother death and he died in 1968 then I expect there would not be no next of kin that could be found easily
