EXPORTING GEDCOM FILE

I am in the process of exporting a GEDCOM file so that I can add it to another genealogy web site but the message 'it is being processed' has been showing for at least seven hours. There are 1500 people on the tree. Is this normal and is there anything I can do to resolve this ? :-(

It shouldn't take that long. It only took me a minute or two. Try emailing GR. [email protected]

You might not hear back from them until monday. They only work office hours.

There have been other threads about this. I may be wrong, but I think it depends which browser you use.

Genes likes Google Chrome, and is not so keen on IE, particularly the older versions. We used to have IE8 on our old Windows XP and had trouble with all sorts of things. So we switched to Chrome for GR stuff and all was OK.

It can be sorted if you do as Graham suggested and email support.

The GEDCOM software stops working occasionally and then no one can export one. The status just stays on pending. Normally for a tree of a couple of thousand people it should be done within ten minutes.

The important thing is to inform the support team about it. Last time it stopped was just before Christmas (see link below).

In this case I don't think your browser is the cause.
