The Lidgards are in the same house in 1891, but still no numbers.

By 1901 they've moved to 18 Abbey Walk, so that's no help in confirming the Bargate house no!

In 1871 the Lidgards (Alfred with parents and siblings) are between the Wheatsheaf and Nuns Farm. Not the same house as in 1881, I think, though most houses in Bargate are unnamed at that time.

1881, still no house numbers, but some house names.

In 1881, there's Nun's Farm (two houses), four houses without names, Mill Fields House, the Wheatsheaf, four nameless houses, Westlands, Spring Villa, then Springfield, [something] Villa, Belmont House, two houses without names, Alexandra Lodge, and another couple of nameless houses.

On Streetview, and with the help of Google searches, nowadays there's Millfields Hotel (no 53), then Bargate House (51), Wellholme House (49), Wheatsheaf Hotel (47 ), then 45, 43, 41, and 39. Spring Villa (Leap Ahead Nurseries) is no 37, and Springfield House (35)..

Nos 41-15 look as if they were originally all one house, so presumably Westlands, so 39 should be the next house to that. (Well, maybe - it's confusing!)

If so, then the occupants of no 39, in 1881, were this family:

No numbers to households then.

Having scrolled/strolled through numerous Grimsby/Great Grimsby census pages there is a single Barrgate household on one page and then 3 pages with address as Barrgate so many households. 58 results for names, although some are families.

Any idea of a name? But sorry, can't look further tonight, I'm nearly asleep ! Will come back in the morning if no one else has ben able to help.
