Anyone have information on mrs gunner who worked at purchases shop in romsey in the 1940s we would be very grateful for any information

Mrs Gunner - Romsey - shop assistant - 1940's is a bit vague.

Although no female Gunner listed Romsey (Hampshire) on the 1939 register has that occupation, she might have got the job later. She might have married Mr Gunner any time after that. Although the marriages 1939-1949 in Romsey reg district are females to make with a different surname. If she was a marry-in during that period, the marriage took place elsewhere.

Do you have any idea of a first name or roughly when she was born?

It's highly unlikely that anyone reading the boards will have know Mrs Gunner or have any details about her. It's just too wide a remit.

Do you have a first name for her or spouse? Several females with that surname on the 1939 register in Romsey.

ah good point Kathleen lol I hadn't looked at the date, the probate record can be found on https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills it gives an alternative name which may be worth looking into? Gives widow's name as Elvina Alice

Roger Gunner was the Romsey shoesmith.
Podge Gunner used to run a weightlifting club.
Do not know if they are the same person, but they are known to members of Romsey Revisited.
