It was under the Empire Settllement Act. "as The New Homeland" scheme there was articles in all UK newspapers an offer for a new life in Canada, offering assisted passages and loans...

He was a truck driver, and was being deported from Canada.
A note says "Gaol 'Athenia' 4/4/29 "

Home address: Feus, Powmill, by Dollar.

Same address as on way out in 1929.


Some others listed with him were also being deported from gaol, and others because they were "LPC" - Liable to become a Public Charge.

In the 1930's, because of the Depression, Canada deported lots of people who were a drain on Canada's financial resources.

there is a tree on ancestry with his travel and his marriage and birth cert etc

he was with a large party of teenage boys so not a BHC.He gives his fathers name and address plus his mums name so doenst appear to home child

his destination was the BIMC ass hostel in Montreal

he was born in Aug 5th 1911 Fife

trying to find out abt this association and if they helped the boys come back to britain
my mother in laws father went out in 1929 between then and 1938 he came home to scotland met his wife and married . so looking to fill gap
