No, many children were not baptised

This could be because the parents could not afford it, or there was no parish priest where they lived ............... many churches in remote places did not have an incumbent but relied on a travelling priest to visit occasionally

BUT they could be baptised at a later date .............

some parents baptised several children at once, which could be because of the travelling priest, or because it was cheaper.

A child might be baptised before starting work, so around age 7, 8 or 10; or they might be baptised just before they married.

You should always check for late baptisms.

Plus of course a child might be baptised in a non-conformist church, including RC, Quaker, Methodist, etc.

Any help appreciated but don't think they had a lot of money so maybe not there

mother born Staffordshire too but lived in Derbyshire

The other thread is my birth questions but could not find it so started a baptism one thank you for your help x Have found original thread so really pleased as I did not record the information but will now x I have never found a birth certificate so thought I would try to look for a baptism x Is there any way I can link the threads together so I don't mess people about x Thankyou
