If he was buried in a church grave yard, the entry in the Register would give his name, age, possibly cause of death, and place of death / latest address (address from where he died), ie the workhouse.

No next of kin, parentage etc.

The entry in a cemetery register would be similar.

Even the workhouse entry would not give all the information you want. It MIGHT give the address and sometimes you get the wife's namefrom which he entered the Workhouse, especially if he was admitted to the hospital section not the general workhouse .............

remember the local workhouse had a hospital and that was the only place where poor people could get medical care, even mothers might have to go in there to give birth.

Found an entry for a Jeremiah Higgins death in the Moston list for that workhouse.

Where would such people have been buried, and what details are contained in the register -ie next of kin. occupation, place of birth? etc

The name is not uncommon, and there are a couple of the same age in the Manchester area. Just trying to sort them out!
