Hi everyone!

So im looking into my 5th great grandparents Andrew Paxton & Agnes Warden to which I know nothing about!

All I know is the following...

Andrew & Agnes had 2 children, John Paxton b.1785 (my 4xgg) & Peter Paxton b.1790.

I can't find any marriage records for Andrew & Agnes or in fact any document regarding them??

Could anyone help shed some light? or point me in the right direction?

Hello, sorry i didnt realise i left out scotland!

Yes I saw there was an Andrew who married an Agnes Currie!

I was hoping if i could find Andrew & Agnes's marriage record it might give me a father's name or mothers maiden name.

Here's the FS hit for my gggg grandparents marr:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XTLS-B5N
William Anderson
Scotland Marriages, 1561-1910
marriage: 16 June 1795
Saint Fergus, Banff, Scotland
spouse: Janet Reid

When I got the image from SP, it actually read:

June 16th 1795 William Anderson Servt to
P Reid in Alehousehill and son of Wm Anderson
in Ednie was this day married to Janet Reid
Daughter to Jas Reid in Old Kirkton

For me, that was well worth the 1.40 GBP's worth of credits paid to SP

Oh i don't mind purchasing a record but i doubt that a baptism will list the grandparents names which is what im looking for.

There's no Paxton/Warden marriage showing up in Parish Records on SP.

Not all parish records are as informative as mgnv's ancestors' record.
If it had been available, it would have been worth a look, but many just give the names of the bride and groom, with no mention of parents.

Records prior to 1855 in Scotland will be parish records. In the case of marriages, they seldom give parents' names. I have only a couple of marriages from parish records which name the bride's father and none naming the father of the groom. The detail recorded on parish records vary depending on how much the recorder wished to include.

It may be worth trying to find burial records as either of them may be buried in a family lair.

They seem to have been better at keeping records of births than of marriages in Prestonpans.

Just as with Andrew & Agnes, there's no sign of John & Christian's marriage.
