My mother served in the Fire Service during WWII (Lancaster and London) but there seems very little records of this service out there. Anyone any ideas where records, if any, would be.
Looking for any information on Ann (Annie) Brayshaw in the Service.

Don’t know if this will help. The records probably aren’t digitalised.

If her record is opened on the 1939 Register, does it say AFS to the right of the entry?

Thank you. In 1939 she was only sixteen and did't join till about 1941 and stayed until 1947 when I was born.
I will try the links you give.

Our house was a ARP post we had a plaque outside for many years after WW2

Dad worked at the woolwich Arsenal so was exempt for call up as he was on essential war work .he did try to sign up but was rejected

Mum did her bit. She did a Red Cross training and was on bomb look out
If a bomb went off in the local area she would attend the bombed aree and try to administer first aid till the casualty was taken off to hospital
