Just trying again now on a PC - we were away when I replied.

https://cityark.medway.gov.uk/
click on Parish records (Archdeaconry of Rochester)

Find the Parish you're interested in, in this case it was Ash-next-Ridley, the first on the list.

Click away until you find the record set you want.
Your eye is drawn to the hierarchy browser result in the lower section of the page eg

ASH NEXT RIDLEY, SAINTS PETER & PAUL PARISH RECORDS
fonds | P8
1563-1997
INCUMBENT - Registers and services
series | P8/1

Composite register: baptisms 1736-1809, marriages 1736-1753, burials 1736-1809
file | P8/1/2

All that is below a thin line. Above it is

Title Composite register: baptisms 1736-1809, marriages 1736-1753, burials 1736-1809
ReferenceP8/1/2

Digitised version P008-01-02.pdf

Click on the P008-01-02.pdf which is a blue hyperlink

Although it may take a while to load, eventually a PDF opens in another tab.

When Medway Archives was available to use i had no problems with it at al!
When a whole page was before me i'd make a wild guess as to the year i was looking for and usually could find what i wanted in a flash!.....not slow at all!
Plus you could download exactly what you wanted!

So no thanks to all those who complained about it..............as now is lost in cyber
world it seems!.......and no one seems to care about!

To all those who are connected to ancestors in Kent...Please send an email to

.'Medway Archives' to let them know where can we go to to be able to use it!
Adlib not available

even though they have passed it on..........as we do not want it lost in the wrong hands.
There are 'not' too many sites that are 'FREE' and Medway Archives was fantastic i had downloaded many BMD's in years past.....

Hate the thought it will be all lost in the wrong hands!

I have managed it once, but couldn’t give instructions. Basically it was clicking anything available to click & then some more!

Once you do get where you want to go, you had to accept a download of that particular set of images. At least it ends up on your own device to browse at your leisure.

People complained the original version was clunky, slow to load etc, but at least it was easy to use.

They moved the records to Strood where the were being put over onto a new computer system

I couldn’t find what I had previously let alone new searches so i gave up

Try ringing Medway archives to see what they advise
