As suggested by rootsgatherer on a different thread I continue my mine and my Father's ancestry.

I am David Irvine b 1945 Newcastle T & W

Son of Samuel Galway Irvine b15/10/1918 d12/6/1990
and Ella Doreen Atkinson b1/1/1912 d12/6/1994
Samuel and Ella married 13/6/1945 Newcastle T & W

Samuel was the son of Samuel Irvine senior's second marriage to Sarah McLarnon.
Samuel and Sarah married 15/10/1910 Belfast
Samuel b 1874 d 1940 (died Purdeysburn Hospital Belfast 4/3/1940)

Samuel Irvine was the son of Francis Irvine and Rose Anna
Married Ballylinny Presbyterian Church Ballylinny

On Francis' marriage certificate his Father is also named as Francis

Any assistance would most certainly be appreciated

Have you looked at the Irish censuses for 1901 and 1911

They are free

I too hope this isn't a duplicate request.

My GGF Francis appears on the 1911 census as being a general labourer aged 72
living in Osborne Street Belfast withe his wife and unmarried daughter.

He is listed as illiterate he makes his mark and his wife signs.

In 1911, Francis and his wife did not have their daughter living with them. She was with them in 1901.

The wife had borne 10 children, of whom only 3 were alive in 1911
