	PRONI has an on-line, searchable catalogue, containing 1,000,000 records. You might find out if they hold what you are looking for, before travelling to Belfast. Good luck!

	Have you tried contacting the Records Office to ask? I would doubt that records as recent as 1970 would be publicly available, in any case.

	Hi there One branch of my family tree seemed to be career criminals which I find very interesting. Does anybody know if Ireland and more specifically Northern Ireland police took photos of their prisoners from let’s say 1870-1970?? For drink and theft related offences. I believe I would have to go to public records office Northern Ireland for these , but it would be worth it f they had photos!! Thanks very much in advance John
