Very unlikely to find a divorce record. From the national archives re survival of divorce records "After 1937: less than 0.2%".

Lilian's former names are unlikely to be on the death cert, unless known to the informant. But the date of birth might be a match?

Yes it is worth a try and i shall contact the home, it cant hurt can it. You see she bigamously married before and was perhaps not the most honest person so i have a nasty feeling she may have done that again. My grandad did have a family with another lady who took his surname but no one recalls them getting married, maybe if still married to Lilian he couldnt - who knows.

If say i got this Lilians death cert, would her previous names be on it ?? How can you tell if someone got divorced, all i seem to find on here are marriage entries.

As I think the Nursing Home in Blackpool is still open would it be worth contacting them to see if they can give you any information on the Lillian who was there in 2002. It seems to be the only electoral register she appears on.

Sandra if the Lilian in the nursing home died after 2006 her death will not be online, you could try going to one of the main libraries that hold the full death register of microfiche, but would have to wade through and you would still have to guess which if any might be your Lilian to then order cert.

I cannot seem to find a lot of information about the lilian in the nursing home so not sure. Yes Lilians daughter did emigrate to Australia as an adult with her husband, she last saw Lilian when she was 18 months old, Lilian severed contact with her the same as my dad unfortunately, he has no memory of her at all so we are guessing that she must have gone by the time he was 3/4 years old which he would have been in 1940.

Just to add, the reason for her disappearance was that she was found with another man and the marriage ended. She started a new life with this man we presume but have no idea who or where, her last known name was Lilian Hession.

Thanks for the further Lilian Hession information i shall follow those threads, i am currently waiting for a response from a Mr Riley on here who came up as a tree match for Lilian too, still awaiting his response.

Yes thanks to your help i have contacted Felicity, her Grandmother was my dads half sister and we now are in regular contact and have helped each other with Lilians early years and up to 1940 where she was on the eve of war Census as living at an address in Blackpool (Warwick Road) with my dad and Granddad.
I shall try and post the older thread with the pre 1940 information.

Sandra did you ever contact the Felicity who posted at the end of that thread? If so was it not the right person? EDIT sorry I misread the post, so it was Lilian's daughter who went to Aus, not Lilian herself.

Did this post on there come to anything "rootgatherer Report 20 Aug 2017 17:36
Sandra, you don't think the Lilian Hession in the Blackpool Nursing Home on the 2002 ER is your Lilian? I can't find a death in Blackpool for that lady but if she died after 2005, I don't think it would show on FMP."

Sandra can you please post a link to previous thread so no one repeats what's already been found? It should be under 'my threads' under 'tools' in menu at left of page.

What name was she using the last time she was known about

Is there a reason for any name change other than marrying

If she just took on a name it would be difficult to find her

Can you post the previous link so we don't go over what has already been found

Just another appeal about any news of the above Lady born 30/11/1913 Sheffield.

Through previous appeals for information, this community have helped our family trace Lilians past up to 1940 where she was last known as residing in Blackpool.

After this she disappeared, more than likely taking a new name and it is from this period that we are hoping to find out what happened to her, any help would be appreciated.
