Have found a family living at Dearnley Mill near Rochdale, Lancashire. I think they are actually in a cottage there.
There are 5 names;
James Booth aged 45 (1796)
Jane Booth aged 35 (1806) wife nee Brown?
Margt. Booth aged 1 (1840) daughter
Maria Wallwork aged 15 (1826)
John Binns aged 45 (1796)

There is a marriage at Manchester cathedral -08/06/1840, that I think might be this couple. But I cannot find a registration of birth for the daughter -Margaret?
If anyone has access to the full census could they say where each was born ? please.
I cannot find them in 1851 .
Although I suspect James Booth might be in Manchester in Slaters trade Directory of 1858-63 as at 10 Smith Street, Ancoats, Manchester .as a spinner.

Any suggestions gratefully received...
:-)

1841 only says whether or not they were born 'in county'

This must relate to previous posts - too much of a coincidence of names for it not to be the case

James was NOT born in Lancashire

His occupation was SHOPKEEPER

No penalties for not registering births until 1875 (make a note)

I cannot find these registrations on Freebmd or the GRO Index. You would have to contact the local Registration Office to buy one or both of the certificates.

The James Booth being sought on the poster’s OTHER threads was a Spinner - not a Shopkeeper
