Thank you Erika and Argyll Gran, much appreciate your response. My apologies for very late reply but I got carried away with following your instructions and forgot to send a thank you until I was looking into My Watched Threads today.

Thanks again

Select the son's record on your tree.

In the slide-out pane on the right side of the screen, scroll down to "Relationships" as Erika says, then click "Add Mother.

Click "Find existing", and start typing the mother's name.
Select the right name from the resulting drop-down list.
Click "Save".

That's assuming you already have the mother somewhere on your tree, which is what I understand from your post.

If she's not already on your tree , then click "Add new" instead of "Find existing", enter the details and click "Save."

I added father then mother to an existing son (because at the time I added son I did not know either parent). Unfortunately, when I looked at the parents net to add a little detail the son had been added to the father and not "jointly" between both parents as happens if adding a son to parents. Can someone tell me how to make son come from parents jointly please. I can't delete son as there is a whole list of family "under" him which would be endless work to re-do.

thank you
