I have the same problem, and it is very difficult not to input the same person more than once.
My 2 grandmothers were related, so my parents would normally appear twice in my tree. If I don't put one of the maternal lines in, it looks as though it is missing. So I listed my fathers maternal line, and made a note on Mum's to look at the other line. Mum's father's line is there as normal.

And then to compound the issue, I have other inter-family marriages further back too.

To add to what ErikaH has said -

as the spouses are already on your tree, after you've clicked on ADD and SPOUSE, select FIND EXISTING.

Start typing the name, then select the right person from the drop-down list which may appear.
Then click SAVE.

Click on the person’s name - at the extreme right of the screen are two little arrows. Click on them to open an info pane. Click on ADD - select SPOUSE.

If adding children, add them to the SPOUSE, and select the appropriate mother from the options offered

When you open your tree it should bring you up on the page that opens. If you then go to the person in question, under the name you should see three small boxes with "add", "edit" and "delete". You should be able to alter things from there and add or delete spouses. The person should only be in the tree once.

I have people in my tree with more than one spouse but they only show up once. No one should show up more than once if you enter them correctly.

Dear All,

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how i would achieve the following:-

I have a person in 2 parts of my tree who has been married 3 times.
I have her with her parents and 1st husband in 1 part of my tree.
Then i have her in another part of my tree with her 2nd husband.

I want to add in her 3rd husband as well.

Can anyone suggest to me how i can get her to appear only once with all 3 husbands as i have multiple ways that all 4 of them are connected via parents and siblings and children.

I consider myself to be quite good at family research, but in this case i am absolutely at a loss as to what to do to resolve this problem.

Perhaps i just cannot see the obvious solution!!!

Thanks for any help.
