Obtaining copy of marriage certificate

Have you tried looking at parish records? Many districts now have these on line. There are images of burial books, marriage certs and burials. It's worth a look, they've saved me a bit of money.

You can order a copy of the marriage certificate from the GRO which will cost £11.

You need the year, quarter, volume number, page number and district (that is the GRO reference).

If you would like to give the names here someone will look up the reference for you or you can look it up yourself on FreeBMD.

If the marriage is in the parish records on Findmypast or Ancestry then there may be an image you can see but they are mostly for earlier marriages.

Can anyone suggest how I can view the actual marriage certificate from 1898 or obtain a copy? I have found a transcription from a ledger so have the volume and page number but it doesn’t give much in the way of detail ie name of chapel, date of marriage or fathers’ names etc.
