Victor Reginald Evans and Mary Agnes McDonald O’Brien are the parents.

So far I’ve found Victor Evans born 1910, Arthur Edward Evans born 1912, Annie Evans born 1917 and Sydney Evans born 1919.

Annie was my father in law’s mother

Who were the parents?

Thank you both. I’ll take a look at the census and try Doreen.

My mother was called Dolly all of her life because her older brothers had said she looked like a little dolly when she was born but her name was Barbara, so I think the name could have applied to any name which doesn't help you at all.

My sister-in-law's mother was called Doreen and she was known as Dolly for as long as I knew her so you could look at that.

1911 Scottish census can be seen on Scotland’s People website, but you will have to purchase credits to see it

Does anyone know what name Dolly might be a nickname for? I’ve tried Dorothy and Dolores without success. Unfortunately the only people I can ask only knew her as Aunt Dolly. As her parents married in Scotland in 1906 I can most likely get the certificate to prove it’s her but I cannot find any census.
