	The records havnt disappeared adoption full records are closed records and not in the public domain,,,,they are confidential and only accessed by the adopted person themselves,,,,,, Her surname at least would have been changed and possibly christian names aswell,so no hope of discovering who she became.unless the mother married and she was then formally adopted by her husband.

	Perhaps Frances's husband was not the father of the baby and she didn't name the father or he wouldn't let her give his name as father. The surname would still be his as this would be the mother's surname at the time if she was still married to him. Kath. x
