You don’t need to be uncertain about birth years.....use freebmd or the GRO site and look for birth registrations

He’d have been 46 when WW2 started.....

There is another Cyril P Bragg - second name `Pretoria’ - so it is essential to ascertain which of them married Gladys Godden

Margaret’s baptism records her parents as William and Rebecca

Rebecca was born AMJ 1891

William Noble Bragg died AMJ 1890

Exact dates are needed to clarify whether William could possibly have been her father , although it’s very unlikely
He certainly wasn’t Cyril’s

my money would be on a Mr Penrose ;-) ;-)

So they were illegitimate, and you should record their father as ‘Unknown’ on your tree, although their second forename is possibly a clue to his identity

If Cyril married Gladys then he wasn’t at home for the 1939 register. This could mean he was already in the services.

Can't find anything of Cyril Penrose Bragg other than birth & marriage record. No Census records. Mother thought to be Rebecca Worsfold.
Siblings: Margaret Hannah Bragg c.1885-1886. Record for a Rebecca Penrose Bragg c.1892-1892, but birth entry states mmn Penrose. Is this a transcription error?
Rebecca's husband William Noble Bragg died in1890, but Rebecca & Cyril weren't born until 1892 & 1893.
Found a 1891 Census record for Rebecca Bragg (snr) status: widow and living with sister etc. and her two brothers (spelling Worsfield not Worsfold). Can find nothing further for Rebecca.
Not sure whether I have just totally confused myself.
