I think a penny has just dropped.
In June quarter 1880 there is:
Annie Elizabeth Harris Hackney 1b 619 MMN Hamling
and in the September quarter there is:
Ann Elizabeth Macey Hackney 1b 497 Sep qtr. 1880 MMN Harris born 4 Middle Street 13th June, father C Macey (as posted 15 June above). Mother Elizabeth Macey, formerly Harris, per certificate.

So it looks as if Annie is unconnected but confusing as the names are almost identical.

Sorry for the gap in posting on this thread but I had a silly accident 3 weeks ago and lost the sight in one eye.

And good to know that initial suspicions of Elizabeth Mally/Macey being the Harrises' daughter are correct!



Elizabeth's death probably 1883, as already posted.
Charles is more of a mystery, and still a loose end.

He is NOT the Charles , son of George and Sarah, who married Elizabeth Beavis, as in post on 4th June - but so far I don't see another likely candidate.

Still coming to terms with the eye loss, but today drove to the Asda supermarket on the other side of town and back, so confidence is slowly returning.

But haven't managed to do much family history research in the last few weeks. Waiting for some glasses for computer use as looking at the screen is a bit painful at present..

Your eye is the important thing, Brian - family history will still be there when you're ready.
